THE WINDAE

He’s jist a poor wee laddie wi a mop o’ yellae hair
sittin in his jammies as if he disnae care
His pals are aw oot playin an he’s in wi his maw
Cos he smashed the lavvy windae playin’ wi a baw.

His mammy says he’s grounded – He says it is nae fair
He says he didna mean it – she says she disnae care
He says he’s aufa sorry and he’s trying no tae laugh
Cause ducks have started landin an swimmin in the bath.

His da’s due hame for dinner, whits he gonni say
Will his mither tell on him and should he run away ?
He wants tae catch his faither comin up the path
Explain aboot the windae an the feathers in the bath.

He called his grampa on the phone an pleaded for his help
Av telt then that am sorry but they want tae hear me yelp
Ma da is affy tired and canny be annoyed
He says orr trip to Disney land was now made null and void.

Grampa couldnae promise but he’d see whit he could dae
He coulnae fix the windae co’s he lived too far away
But he said he knew a glazier that lived jist doon oor street
He said he’d ask a favour and there, there no tae greet.

The wee man fixed the windae and widnae take a dime
He said the job wis easy an is yir grampa keepin fine
Well a hope ye lernt yir lesson a hope its sinkin in
Now go an take they boardin passes oot the rubbish bin.
