 My old friend Bill

He gave me a leek

And a made a pot o soup

That normally lasted a week

When the soup was ready

There was a knock on ma door

It wus Bill wi a his weans

And there wus merr than three or four

They a got stuck in

Tae the lovely minestrone

A wantid tae keep some fur the morra

Noo there wusny gonny be oany

Not a slice o breed

Wus left in ma hoose

No even a few crumbs

That wid feed a wee moose

But guid auld scots hospitality

Is unbroken and renowned

Its all over the world

More solid than a pound

My old friend Bill

He gave me anither leek

And says; yir soup wus magic tam,

Same time nixt week?
