HI-Tech Granny

When I was a young girl , say fifty
I thought computers were nifty
But my goodness gracious
I said girl don't be audacious

Computers are for the youngsters
Please NO not for us oldsters
Why my brain is now on overload
If I try to learn more it may explode

So I waited awhile
And then awhile more
Until my daughter who is fifty
Came to visit from a different city

She said mom you're a sissy
Your brain is getting listy
We're going shopping , and I'll not
Take no for an answer, I will not

Home we came with a smile on her face
And mine in complete shock and horror
You may think this is the end of my story
You are wrong it's the beginning of glory

For in one month and three days
I've learned about desk tops , icons, viruses,
Word processors, cut, copy , and paste
I could go on and on, but I don't want to brag

The one thing I didn't learn is how to write a poem
So I'll close for now and get a book on that
And then in another twenty five years I'll be back.
