I GOT THE BLUES

I got the blues, I got the Blues
I got the old age pensioner blues
When I was Young, I had no aches and pains
Now I get rheumatics whenever it rains
And People think that age has addled by Brains
I got the old age pensioner blues

I got the blues, I got the blues
I got the need some help pensioner blues
Can't find my specs', I know I left them. hereabout
Turned off my hearing aid, you'll have to shout
And I can't eat toffee 'cos my dentures fall out
I got the need some help pensioner blues.

1 got me blues, I got the blues
I got the stony broke pensioner blues
Worked an my life, I did my best
Hoped that my pension would do the rest
But to get extra money you must take the 'means test'
I got the stony broke pensioner blues.

I got the blues, I got the blues
I got the optimistic pensioner blues
Went to the pub to have a drink
Then off to my bed and what do you think
I dreamed that the government restored 'the link'
I got the optimistic pensioner blues

I got the blues, I got the blues
I got the roving round pensioner blues
I go to Kew Gardens with its acres of glass
Visit Regent's Park and sit on the grass
You can go all over London with your travel pass
I got the roving round pensioner blues.
