FRIENDS WHO CARE

When life just seems so empty,

when no joy it seems is there.

Remember in the darkness

You still have friends who care.

When the world is falling round you

and the darkness has no end.

There is someone who will listen

if you'll only trust your friend.

When the tears won't come for sadness.

When the hurt you cannot bear.

Reach out your hand, take mine.

For you, my friend, I'm there.

I won't be overpowering,

or always in the way.

But if I can be helpful

you only have to say!

Then I will sit and listen,

or a hand I'll hold all day.

With a shoulder you can cry on

till the grief all slips away.

Then back in to the background

you'll never know I'm there.

But I will still be watching

and I will always care.
