Myasthenia Gravis

For My Caregiver
By Beverly Nason

(a tribute to her beloved Stan and ALL caregivers)

You work for pay, or give your time as friend
If family, you'll stand by me, until my need may end.
The things you daily do for me, I never can repay.
But hopefully, you'll feel my thanks in these few words I say

My body's weak and so I count upon your strength.
To lift my spirits, I know you'll go any length.
You gently do things that no one should,
That even my doc is surprised how you could.

Your cheerful spirit lifts me up
And draws me from my pain,
Your smile infects, until I find
I have my own again.

I'll do my best to show you that I care.
Through little things, I'll try to do my share.
There's no reward for you on earth
To match your gifts of love
But be assured, we both shall see
You crowned by God above.
