Paths for All is taking the next step forward

Paths for All is the national charity promoting walking for health and the development of multi-use path networks in Scotland.

Since 1996 we have played a key role in encouraging more people to be more active outdoors by assisting in the creation, management and promotion of accessible path networks and routes in every part of the country.  Following its launch in 2001, our innovative Paths to Health programme has led the way in tackling physical inactivity through the promotion, support and development of walking for health.

Now Paths for All is taking the next step forward with a new look, including a new logo, encompassing walking for health and path network development.

Paths for All's new strategy for 2009 -12 focuses our activities around a new vision of a happier, healthier, greener, more active Scotland and our 2 strategic priorities of reducing the proportion of the population who are inactive, through the delivery of a national walking programme; and increasing the number, quality, accessibility and multi-use of paths.

Interested in a Walking Holiday?

I want to start a walking group for people within a radius of about 20 miles of Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

It would be of interest to people aged between 50 and 70.

I find that people in this age group are not catered for with the ordinary groups as they go to far or fast. They also tend to be people on their own who would like company or people who are retired who would like to walk in company.

The walks will cover S.Yorks and North Derbyshire and will be easy and short to begin with going to about 10 miles in summer. Anyone who is reasonably fit could manage these quite easily.

The requirements would be strong footwear preferably boots, clothing to suit the weather, sandwiches and a hot drink.    If you have a camera bring that.      It is surprising what you see.

If you would like to contact me on 01226 248114 for a chat.

Best Wishes,
Bernard Partington.
