FRANCE for HOLIDAYS
A Gem of a Cottage in
DURAS in the Dordogne

Two double bedrooms and a roof terrace with table and chairs and parasol.

The photo shows part of large living room of this very well equipped and decorated cottage located in the heart of the wine producing Bastile town of
Duras,
in the Dordogne - in the south west of France.

Only one hours drive from Bordeaux.

The cottage is in a partly-pedestrianised street within the town, everything is within a short stroll (Banks, supermarket, boulangeries, restaurants and bars) you don?t have to drive everywhere.
Large farmhouse dining table at this end of living room. Wrought iron stairway leads to kitchen with breakfast bar, two bedrooms and large shower room. Up again to enclosed roof terrace.  There is a TV to video system with approx 70 tapes to watch of all varieties, music centre, 300 books chess set etc.
Duras has all shops and three good restaurants, a large chateau and has farmers market each Monday in the streets. The area around is rolling hills with farms nestling in lush valleys, lots of vineyards (world-renowned wines) fields of sunflowers and quaint villages where you can find restaurants tucked away and serving the most delicious food.
Duras has a village square with two pavement cafes one is in the sun in the mornings, the other in the sun in the afternoons?.aaah!
The town is medieval with ancient tower and ramparts and the chateau holds wine fetes from time to time where you buy a glass on entry, with the Duras emblem and you go from stall to stall sampling and buy when you come across something really special!
