  Web Based Free E-Mail Accounts

Web Based Free E-mail Accounts -- There are several good free web based E-mail services available on the Internet. These are only particularly useful if you do not have your own computer or if you are always on the move.   A major benefit to one of these free E-mail accounts is that you can access it from anywhere in the world.  
(I personally do not like web based email - they tend to attract lots of SPAM.  I would prefer to use one of the free ISPs such as Freeserve or Tiscali etc.)

If you do not have a computer - why not open a free e-mail account with one of the providers listed?  With such an account you can visit your local library or community centre or a friend's house and access your e-mail free.

Below are listed some of the most popular Web Based Free e-mail accounts:

• Yahoo -- Reputed to be the most stable with very little problem obtaining messages. Your E-mail address would be XXXXX@yahoo.com where XXXX is an identity you choose. The URL to establish the account is: http://edit.my.yahoo.com/.  beware of spam!
  
  
• Hotmail -- E-mail address would be XXXXX@hotmail.com where XXXX is an identity you choose. The URL to establish an account with Hotmail is: http://www.hotmail.com/. beware of spam!
  
• Lycos provides free web based emails at http://mail.lycos.co.uk/
   
• AltaVista -- Good, powerful and loads reasonably fast. Your e-mail address would be XXXXX@altavista.net where XXXXX is an identity that you choose. The URL to establish an account with AltaVista is: www.mail.com
  
  
• Freeola   My favourite - A  fun site which gives you a choice of identity and a choice of domain names. Your E-mail address would be xxxxxx@yyyyyy.co.uk or .com where xxxxxx is an identity you choose and yyyyyy is one domain you choose from several hundred fun choices.  This site also offers e-mail forwarding to the address of your choice.  Read the support instructions before proceeding:
