The Universal Beneficent Society
UBS is a national charity helping older people in the UK who are living on very low incomes, regardless of their ethnic origin, background or religious affiliation
They provide older people throughout the UK with lifelong financial support and friendship:
- a small, regular extra income paid quarterly
- a winter cash gift
- Christmas hampers
- bedding packs and thermal slippers to guard against hypothermia
- regular letters, cards and an annual newsletter
- the friendship of their volunteers
Their support is committed for the rest of their beneficiaries' lives unless there is a significant change in their circumstances
